New SSC ground station established in Thailand

On November 23rd, the inauguration of the new SSC multi-mission ground station took place in Sri Racha, Thailand, at the GISTDA Space Krenovation Park (SKP). This is a very important addition to the already large SSC global network of ground stations, making access to information easier and quicker.

Together with our Thai partner GISTDA, we celebrated the newest addition to SSC’s global network of ground stations.

“The establishment in Sri Racha, Thailand, is an important step for us and our partner to meet the global space development.  The number of satellites is increasing rapidly and thanks to this new ground station, we strengthen our total capacity to transfer data between our customers and their satellites, says Leif Österbo”, President Satellite Management Services.

Through SSC’s ground station network, many different actors and stake-holders can get quick access to important information.  A good example is information used to observe important phenomena on earth, such as sudden changes in the environment or the climate.

This is the biggest foreign investment within the Thai space industry so far.
